In 1964 V.b.p. was born, taking its name from the first letter of the surnames of the three founding partners. In 1989 it became Finproject.
Established to produce shoe components for the footwear industry, this Marche-based company specialises in the production of soles and outer soles and always offers innovative products and solutions. Pre-trimmed soles, PVC-injected leather soles and revolutionary thermoplastic rubber soles.
Every year the company is involved in countless and continuous creations. In fact the company ethos is centred around creating soles using innovative techniques and cutting edge technology, demonstrating from the outset the characteristics which are the basis of the company’s success: advanced technology, innovation, continuous investment in Research and Development, modernity and dynamism, hard work and professionalism.
A fitting example of the constant success of the company is the George brand of soles, which in 1978 revolutionised this aspect of shoe manufacturing. Production of this brand transported V.b.p. to the heights of European sole fabrication with the production of 2,500,000 pairs a year (compared to around 700,000 in 1974) and the company exported its know-how to more than 20 other countries. The George sole (patented in 1978 at a time when few innovative ideas were being patented) re-launched real leather soles creating a permanent union between leather and PVC.
The next innovation to be born was the AIR WEIGHT® (created and patented in 1982), with a study of extremely lightweight soles made from leather and polyurethane.
The successes in the world of footwear as well as the desire of the president and founder to look to new sectors, created new business opportunities for the company. In the mid 80s Finproject PVC and Polyolefin Compounds were established for the production of PVC and polyolefin; a technical department within the company was created to specialise in creating non footwear products from XL EXTRALIGHT® (an excellent lightweight material created from the fruits of much research which has also been patented). Numerous acquisitions also contributed to the strong growth of Finproject.
